And here he is- MAX from Where the Wild Things Are
his tail is our favorite part- it's a BIG as he is!
sorry there aren't any good smiles, we've discovered that Jonathan hates walking on leaves-too slippery for him
And here he is at Trunk-or-Treat, his costume testing ground:
there are a TON of pictures like this, once he sees the camera it's over!
negotiating the car seat with his tail was a little tricky, but David got the knack of it by the end.
we gave up on the crown by the time we finished eating- he was having none of it
which is sad considering what all Mimi and I went through to make it!
I told Grammie we refer to it as the "Halloween Miracle"
Mimi's sewing machine didn't like the fabric so we had to experiment with a hot glue gun
then I spent all of Jonathan's nap time that day taking it apart and trying with my sewing machine- which thankfully didn't mind- and then I stuffed it with cereal box- whew, it was rough!
let the wild rompus begin!
(he dances, a lot- very appropriate!)
giving me "that look" because it's past his bedtime
waving to his buddy, whose mama shares his nerds (a first for Jonathan)
And lastly, here is Jonathan trick-or-treating in Downtown Buena Vista with Uncle Nathan & Rebecca, I really couldn't have handled it without you guys! Unfortunately David had a TON of work and take home tests and papers to write (and will continue to have a TON of work until Thanksgiving break!). Luckily Nathan and Rebecca helped corral him! I didn't really get any pictures of him getting candy from the businesses, it took all three of us just to keep up with him. We did get to visit Aunt Mary while she was at work at the Blue Dog Art Cafe though!
he was such a ham dancing through the cake walk- yet another "wild rompus"
this is how Uncle Nathan kept him occupied while we waited for the costume contest
he was having a super melt down until he was handed the cell phone
but it was all worth it because he walked away with 3rd place!!
(yay Mimi's hard work!)
and of course, Uncle Nathan, the wonderful Uncle he is dressed up too, as a Wild Thing
and he carried little jon to the car on his shoulders :)
and Anna did a fabulous job making his hat mask!
p.s here is an example of a Jonathan melt down (one of many because all these events happen right at dinner, bath, and bedtime routines+ he was still on antibiotics and cough medicine!)
As Grammie would say, he showed a lot of tail!
Super cute! Good job!
ReplyDeleteThat tail is amazing! I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo cute. Maybe in a couple of years you can recycle it for baby #2 and JonJon can be a wild thing? It's too cute not to use again.
3rd Place - Congratulations. The costume is amazing!!! Thanks for posting. xoxoxox
