Playing Catch Up

You know what they say about the best laid plans right? Well, all my good intentions met new baby and bam went right out the window. But here's to catching up.

Baby story (now that he's exactly 3 months old):
Ethan was due Feb 28th, and we were in a family pickle with David needing to interview March 2nd. Knowing that Jonathan was a little late made up nervous that David would miss out or that I wouldn't be fit for traveling for Spring Break. Thank you all for the many prayers because it did in fact work out perfectly. Ethan was born on Feb 21st (narrowly missing cousin Eleanor's birthday) after 17 hours of labor! My babies like to start morning mid-day before showing up that way mommy & daddy get to stay up all night- both Jonathan and Ethan were born right before 8:30am. Ethan was born "all-natural" and I could not have done it without my Midwife Kerri. I was only 9cm when I "had to" push and broke my water and it's a miracle that I didn't tear more than one stich worth since his shoulders got caught on the way out and they had to flip me like a pancake so they could get him out!
But he was a healthy 7 lbs 11oz and absolutely beautiful!

We've spent most our days since trying to juggle TWO little diaper men! I thought one was "trying" until Ethan came along and now I know that my ability to "do everything" is gone. It's okay now though because I've relaxed enough to just try to enjoy what I can do- which is hug and kiss my boys and play as much as we can and let whatever isn't absolutely necessary go.

Here are two Ethan firsts:

First Day Home

First Bath

Photo Shoots:

"Oh, there you are Mommy"

"I'll sleep on Dada"

"I'll sleep on Pop-pop"

"I'll sleep on Dada again"

"I will not sleep anywhere else"

"And pacifiers won't work either, see I'm WIDE awake"

and by 1 month he is not only smiling, he laughs

and at 2 months, he gets jokes

and now we are mostly up to date...
next time: Jonathan & Ethan together
