I'm Thankful it's November!

As wonderful as October was, with so much going on & all at once, I'm glad it's over. David & I are hoping for a nice, slow-paced November & are counting down the days till Thanksgiving Break.

Currently we are still settling into our apartment- one box at a time & sara, I promise I'll take pictures soon!

We are also trying to get a doctors appointment in the next week or so but are waiting for paperwork to go through :(

As of this week though I'm 8 weeks pregnant (more than half way through my first trimester- one more month to go!!), and I'm definitely feeling it!

So far, here is the most comprehensive list of things baby cannot tolerate:

Smells: ketchup, vanilla extract, the fridge, Langdon gas (my goodness, I was stuck with it on the plane back from NY & thought I was going to DIE!), & dried spit up.

Foods/Spices: Pepper, anything fried, anything that makes me super thirsty (i.e chips, crackers, popcorn), and anything spicy. In fact, thinking of food in general makes me queasy... well, I feel queasy all the time, but especially when I think of food.

Here is what babycenter.com says is going on with baby "New this week":

Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

  1. here's a tip (which may or may not work) - keep a dryer sheet handy and hold it close to your face when you're around nasty smells (which is almost every smell). that only works if dryer sheets don't make you queasy, though. :)
    hope you're doing well!
