The BIG wait

At least, it feels like a BIG wait even though it technically only 24 days till Ethan Samuel Taylor is due.  So unfortunately they did not move the due date- I'm measuring right where I should be so apparently Ethan just had a crazy growth spurt last visit. But now I'm to visit every week! Ugh, the upside being that my next visit isn't actually till the 15th because they were booked!
As far as updates go we've had a lot going on!
Jonathan is talking more, demanding more, and is generally up to MORE trouble! But moving his bedtime to 6pm has finally made a big difference in nap time and I think Sundays are going to be more pleasant from here on out- especially now that he is adjusting to his "movie diet" and realizes Sunday is a NO movie at all day.
We filed our taxes Feb 1st and both Federal and State have gone through and we should get them in before Ethan is born! We'll see what happens, but yay for knowing how we are going to finance David's graduation and application fees, travel expenses for interviews and money for a nicer suit- plus being able to maintain our cars, afford a moving truck and get robbed on property tax! Whew! You get all excited about getting any money back until you realize they just take it for something else :( At least I'll be able to double up on diapers this month right?!
But speaking of the MOVE, we are moving up our moving date. Originally we were thinking the Monday after David's sister's wedding. But now we have realized it will be easier from David to transition into a new job at the beginning of the summer instead of trying to find work midsummer. So we'll need to take a weekend off for Mary's wedding, but we've agreed that overall it's in our financial interest to get out of BV as soon as we can. David has already applied to a handful of places but he's not finished looking- although he has heard back from a tutoring center that would be part time work on top of whatever full-time work he can get.
Ashlyn, we're looking for work in/around Augusta & Evans but are very willing to take you up on your offer as a plan B, we'll keep you updated! We've also browsed at a few rentals online and were glad to see that there are a TON of options. We'll starting weeding through them more seriously as soon as we've lined up full-time work.
Mostly we're just ready to move on to the next chapter- we're ready for Ethan and we're ready for a fresh "new scene" a.k.a anywhere but BV. Don't get me wrong, BV has been mostly wonderful for us, we met here, started our married life here, became parents here! We've learned and have grown so much here, but it is definitely time for our family to prepare to put down more permanent roots. We love Georgia and can't wait to settle there. I know for the next 5 years will still be somewhat temporary, but at least we'll be significantly closer to where we ultimately want to be.
BV has been our "wilderness of affliction" but it's almost over and I'm going to make sure that I spend the next few months enjoying what I do love- the family we have here and the mountains... and that's about it- but I really will make the most of it!

here is another random project- I promise this isn't always a candy jar- right now it's a change jar

but I wasn't kidding when I said I went on a paper mache' spree- I made that "&"
&- I love it... don't know why. I just do.
and those are lemon poppy seed muffins- my absolute, hands down favorite!
next post will have pictures of Jonathan and the sparse Valentine's decorating I've done.

  2. Hopefully the transition will go well. I know that I'm also anxious to leave BV, but it has also brought me a lot of joy.
