Back Story Pt.2

Looking back I also realize now that I never posted anything about our wedding, the reception, the open house or the honeymoon!

I remember that I woke up at 5am. Rachel Adams made me strawberry French Toast that I ate while I did my hair & makeup, & it was perfect. I loved having time to eat a full meal (delicious one too) while putting myself together. It was me time & I’ll never forget it.

At 6am my parents arrived at Susie’s (where I was living, big yellow house) so that they could follow me to the D.C Temple, Susie drove with me & I was very glad of her company!

We arrived early to the temple only to find that David wasn’t there yet (he and his family left the day before to get closer to the temple & have family time)! That was the only panic of the day, but he got there and we were rushed along to the changing room! I had never been so happy in my life to see David than when he rushed in through the temple doors & hugged me! Then I got to go to the bridal rooms with my mom- it was perfect, the room was so beautiful & I love that my mom got to help me get ready & make last minute touch-ups, esp. after the ceremony, which was beautiful. First we talked to the Sealer Brother Richie (one of David's companion's grandfather) and he asked us if we were still in love & gave us great advice about marriage. Then we were sealed in the Sealing room with our closest family & friends, it was perfect too. I wonder how many times I can fit perfect into this story? After the sealing Susie’s daughter took wonderful pictures of our families and of David & I, I cherish every one!

By the time we got through it all it was blazing hot & mis chicas were “air-ing” my dress
(but yay for perfect sunny summer days)
and David was so starving we had to carry him (sorta)! Luckily mom (Taylor mom) had packed us the perfect lunch in one of the most perfect wedding gifts we were given.

Then David and I enjoyed a more than pleasant drive back to BV for our reception which my bride’s maids slaved over (literally, there was a handful of them & it was apparently a nightmare)! I really appreciate what they turned the pavilion into, it was simple and beautiful and filled with friends & family!

Then we were introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Taylor by Brother Stuart

We danced

We ate cake

Tossed the garter (thank you Darla) & bouquet (thank you Granny Cris)

And then we left for our honeymoon!
By Monday we had left BV and arrived at the Legacy Lodge at Lake Lanier Islands in Buford GA. Because of a mix-up we got our own private Villa with a great view of the Lake!

We spent Monday through Wednesday there and stocked up on supplies from Mommer & Dad’s, & we ate out EVERY night- it was delicious. In fact, we even got free cake when we went to P.F Chang’s- & not just any cake, but the Great Wall, a bigger than your head slice with mousse frosting with shaved chocolate & a raspberry glaze with fresh fruit on the side- AMAZING!!

All-in-all, our wedding was incredible & our honeymoon, well, an ideal honeymoon!

After our honeymoon we had our Open House at my parent’s house in Buford. Mis Chicas were there and all the family ward members, plus Harold (the now father of three who babysat me & changed my diapers) and longtime family friends the Joyners (Kayla & her dad Lynn- he gave us great advice about marriage, to always pray for each other & go to the temple with questions, frequently). Sister Harlow sang “There Were Bells”, from the balcony, & it was lovely- so much so that my family continued to sing it all night & will probably every time we visit. *sorry there aren’t any pictures!

Thank you to everyone who made our wedding/reception/open house/honey moon SO wonderful, we really felt the love, and well, still are!
